Total Movements Ship for Maitree Power Project

Total Movements in India continue to ship breakbulk cargo from India to Bangladesh for the Maitree Power Project.

Recently, in collaboration with ABC India Limited they carried out the Multimodal Transportation of ICT(240 mt) and GT(220 mt) transformers by barge from Kolkata to the site at Rampal (Khulna) in Bangladesh for the 2×660 MW-Maitree Power Project.

More recently they shipped over 52,000 FRT of breakbulk project cargo from Chennai port to Mongla port in two months amidst the second wave of Covid-19. “The consignment included both heavy lifts and small cases. The operation was intensive, hectic, and required advance planning.”

“A major challenge faced while executing these shipments was the announcement of lockdown in both the regions, India and Bangladesh which led to disruption in the port operations. However, our team was persistent to complete the shipment at hand with the support of the port and carrier to meet the client’s requirements.”
