UML Launches New Trade Lane to East Africa

United Marguisa Lines (UML) is introducing a new trade lane via Africa, with regular departures ex Continent and ex Asia to East Africa / Mozambique.

UML is the operating company for the joint services to the African continent of United Heavy Lift (UHL) and MARGUISA SHIPPING LINES.
Christian Monsted, Managing Director at UML, remarks that “the startup of UML confirms the long-run commitment of UHL and Marguisa with Africa and particularly with the development of its breakbulk and project cargo industry.”

The first sailing will be completed by the F900 Eco-Lifter “UHL FAST” loading ex Med/Continent, for Maputo, in March 2021.

“East Africa, in general, has become an important shipping hub. We want to be present in this market and serve the world’s largest EPC contractors, oil and gas companies, and project forwarders.”, said Lars Bonnesen, Managing Director at UHL.
