Video: Jumbo Transports 10 TPs for Yunlin!

Footage of Jumbo’s MV Fairpartner lifting and shipping 10 Transition Pieces in Vlissingen, Netherlands for the Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm, Taiwan.

Jumbo’s scope for the Yunlin project includes both Offshore and Shipping capabilities. Transporting 40 monopiles, 120 monopile-sections, and 40 TPs from Germany/NL to Taiwan and installing 80 TPs offshore. The TPs weigh approximately 450 tonnes each.

The Yunlin offshore wind farm is set to feature 80 Siemens Gamesa 8 MW turbines. Yunlin is owned by wpd (73 percent) and a Sojitz Corporation-led consortium, which includes Japanese companies Chugoku Electric Power, Chudenko Corporation, Shikoku Electric Power, and JXTG Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation.

It will comprise a total of 80 monopile foundations – including some of the largest and heaviest ever used in an offshore wind energy project. In total, 80 Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) 8.0-167 DD turbines will be installed at the wind farm, located 8 km off the Taiwanese west coast.
