Volga-Dnepr Airlines Upgrades to fly heavier cargo

The upgrade of a second Antonov-124 aircraft which can now take payloads of up to 150 tonnes, an increase of 20 tonnes for the aircraft’s capacity, has been completed.

The aircraft’s new re-enforced floor and tyres mean that the aircraft can fly heavier project cargo than before, supporting global deliveries of freight perhaps not considered for air transportation till now.

A third aircraft upgrade is planned for 2020.

Volga-Dnepr Airlines operates a fleet of 12 x Antonov-124 aircraft.
