Wallenius Wilhelmsen Celebrates Grand Opening of Brunswick Terminal

BRUNSWICK, GEORGIA. Wallenius Wilhelmsen has officially inaugurated its new Brunswick terminal, marking a significant milestone in its expansion within the U.S. market. The new facility, which includes an Equipment Processing Center (EPC) and Vehicle Processing Center (VPC), is set to bolster the company’s logistics capabilities and support its long-term growth strategy.

The grand opening solidifies a strategic partnership with the Georgia Ports Authority (GPA), highlighted by a 20-year lease agreement, with options extending up to 30 years. This long-term commitment underscores Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s confidence in Brunswick as a key logistics hub for handling growing volumes in the South Atlantic region.

“Brunswick, with its facilities and infrastructure investments, is well-positioned to accommodate further growth in the U.S.,” stated John Felitto, COO of Logistics Services at Wallenius Wilhelmsen. “Our integrated offering at the terminal showcases our capabilities as a comprehensive logistics provider.”

The Brunswick terminal is expected to provide significant benefits for customers by offering seamless integration of trucking, terminal services, and ocean transport. Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s sister company, KEEN, will contribute its trucking capabilities, further enhancing supply chain efficiency and connectivity.

According to Pia Synnerman, Chief Customer Officer at Wallenius Wilhelmsen, the dynamic nature of the logistics industry necessitates flexibility and adaptability. “Our customers are living in an ever-changing environment. Especially now, it is changing very fast. Their situation and needs are going to change going forward, hence we need to be flexible on our side so we can develop our services to meet their needs. Brunswick is a purpose-built facility and completely modern which gives us that flexibility,” she explained.

With the launch of the terminal, Wallenius Wilhelmsen aims to enhance operational efficiency and streamline supply chains for customers in both domestic and international markets. The investment reflects the company’s strategic vision to create an interconnected logistics network that bridges ocean and land-based transport services.

Griff Lynch, President and CEO of the Georgia Ports Authority, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We are excited to partner with Wallenius Wilhelmsen and support their long-term growth ambitions here in the U.S. The Port of Brunswick’s size, scale, and world-class facilities will position WW for success with new supply chain opportunities.”

The Brunswick terminal is poised to play a vital role in Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s global operations, providing customers with improved logistics solutions and reinforcing the company’s presence in the U.S. market. As infrastructure investments continue, the facility is expected to evolve in line with market demands and future supply chain developments.
