Wallenius Wilhelmsen Secures Three-Year Logistics Deal with Automotive OEM

OSLO, June 2, 2025 – In a move that reinforces its footprint in the automotive logistics sector, Wallenius Wilhelmsen has secured a renewed logistics contract with a long-term automotive OEM client. The contract, valued at approximately USD 100 million over the next three years, underscores the company’s role in supporting finished vehicle supply chains across North America.

While the name of the OEM partner remains undisclosed, the partnership is anything but new. The agreement builds on years of steady cooperation, with Wallenius Wilhelmsen delivering a tailored suite of logistics and vehicle processing services.

Speaking on the extension, Pia Synnerman, Chief Customer Officer at Wallenius Wilhelmsen, stated: “We are pleased to renew our contract for three new years with a long-term partner. This solidifies our partnership that has been built over several years of collaboration. We look forward to further fostering the customer relationship.”

The renewed agreement includes factory vehicle processing services, a critical component in the OEM’s outbound logistics network. These services cover end-of-line operations, accessory installations, rail loading, and yard management. It’s a comprehensive solution that blends efficiency with precision—fitting the strict operational timelines of global carmakers.

For those unfamiliar with the term, end-of-line services refer to the final stage of vehicle preparation before transport—think of it as suiting up cars before they leave the plant. From installing accessories to getting the vehicles rail-ready, Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s teams operate behind the scenes to ensure these cars reach dealerships road-ready and on schedule.

With supply chain volatility still a concern for manufacturers in 2025, having a dependable partner for factory-based services provides a layer of resilience and predictability. In many ways, it’s like handing the baton off to a teammate you’ve run dozens of races with—you know they’ll keep the pace.

Wallenius Wilhelmsen continues to leverage its experience in maritime transport and terminal operations to offer flexible, scalable logistics solutions tailored to OEM needs. This contract cements its position as a go-to provider for outbound vehicle logistics—particularly at a time when auto manufacturers are reevaluating their supply chain strategies amid ongoing global uncertainty.
