CS WIND Offshore Completes Record XXL Monopile Deliveries from Denmark

Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

Delivering the world’s largest offshore wind foundations doesn’t happen overnight — and for the team at CS WIND Offshore, it’s been a season defined by sheer scale and precision.

During the spring and summer, the company finalized the production of several XXL monopiles, each stretching between 106 and 123.6 meters in length. The largest of them — a staggering 2,515 tonnes — set a new record in size. Despite the complexity of the fabrication, CS WIND Offshore achieved a remarkably low welding defect rate of just 0.05%, underscoring the precision of its manufacturing process.

Over the past six months, the company executed seven major load-outs from its Lindø facility in Denmark, with four taking place within the last two months alone. The combined weight of these recent load-outs reached 65,000 tonnes, while their cumulative length approached 3.6 kilometers. To put it into perspective, stacking them end-to-end would nearly equal the height of eleven Eiffel Towers — a striking visualization of the scale involved in offshore wind construction today.

CS WIND Offshore offers a sweeping view of the activity at Lindø, capturing months of meticulous work by teams on site. The coordination between production, logistics, and engineering crews as these massive steel structures make their way from factory floor to transport vessel.

The company credited the achievement to its dedicated employees and long-term partners who contributed across every stage of the process. “A big thank you goes out to all team members, including both employees and our valued long-term partners, for their continued dedication and collaboration,” said CS WIND Offshore in its announcement.

With the offshore wind sector pushing for larger turbines and deeper foundations, such milestones demonstrate how manufacturing capacity and logistical expertise must continue to scale in tandem with the industry’s ambitions.
