RightShip, the Singapore based maritime digital platform for safety and supply chain risk management, has appointed David Finch as Chief Commercial Officer effective 1 May 2026, the company said on Thursday.
The appointment is part of a broader leadership restructuring at the vetting and inspections specialist, which serves more than 1,000 customers worldwide. Finch will oversee sales, partnerships, customer success, marketing, and global commercial strategy as RightShip looks to scale its platform and deepen its presence across the maritime supply chain.
Leadership structure takes shape
The company has made several senior hires in recent months. Heejeong Hong joined earlier this year as Chief Transformation Officer to lead strategy and transformation initiatives. Graham Fisher was appointed Chief Technology Officer, allowing Marlon Grech to move from a combined product and technology role to focus solely on product innovation as Chief Product Officer.
The restructuring creates four distinct leadership tracks covering technology, product, transformation, and commercial execution. RightShip said the changes are designed to support its expansion beyond traditional vessel vetting into data, AI, and technology driven services for maritime risk assurance.
Commercial focus sharpens
Steen Lund, Chief Executive Officer of RightShip, said the company is building a leadership team that combines maritime expertise with capabilities in technology, AI, data, and commercial execution. Lund said these competencies are central to delivering value to customers and supporting the industry’s future.
Finch said his focus will be on aligning customer strategy, commercial operations, and technology innovation. He brings experience in scaling commercial organisations across the technology and data sectors.
Platform evolution continues
Founded in 2001, RightShip provides due diligence, environmental, and inspection services to shipowners, charterers, and commodity traders. The company has positioned itself as a digital platform connecting safety, sustainability, and social responsibility data across the shipping sector.
The leadership changes signal RightShip’s intent to compete more broadly in the growing maritime technology and data analytics market, where demand for risk management tools continues to rise amid tightening regulatory and ESG requirements.
