Vessel to continue IRM support on Dutch Continental Shelf

SeaMar Group has secured a new long term charter with Eni Energy Netherlands BV for the Diving Support Vessel SeaMar Splendid, with the contract commencing on 2 March 2026.

The agreement extends a working relationship that has seen the vessel continuously deployed for the client since 2009. Under the new charter, the DSV SeaMar Splendid will continue supporting inspection, repair and maintenance activities on the Dutch Continental Shelf, maintaining its established role in offshore subsea operations.

For offshore contractors, such continuity is rare. In a market often shaped by short term campaigns and shifting priorities, a contract spanning well over a decade and a half signals operational stability for both owner and charterer.

Upgrade program targets efficiency and sustainability

As part of the new contract, SeaMar will implement a comprehensive upgrade program. The focus will be on reducing environmental impact, improving operational efficiency and reliability, and enhancing onboard living conditions for crew.

Rory Balkema, Managing Director of SeaMar, said the investments reflect the company’s long term commitment to responsible vessel management and to providing a safe and comfortable working environment.

He noted that by 2026 the SeaMar Splendid will have supported Eni’s IRM campaigns for more than 15 years, calling it a demonstration of the company’s strength and crew dedication.

The renewed charter underscores Eni’s continued reliance on dedicated subsea support tonnage in the Dutch sector, where asset integrity and maintenance remain central to offshore production strategies.
