GeoSea’s Apollo has left Pula, Croatia, and is headed to Vlissingen, the Netherlands, where this multi-purpose, self-propelled jack-up vessel will undergo mobilization ahead of its first assignments.
The jack-up is expected to arrive in Vlissingen on 24 August. Following the mobilization, it will head to a platform removal project, which will be followed by another project in Europe, a spokesperson for DEME Group, the parent company of GeoSea, told Offshore WIND.
Apollo was officially delivered to GeoSea at a ceremony held at the Uljanik Shipyard earlier this month.
Based on the GustoMSC NG-5500X design, the jack-up features four 106.8-metres-long legs and can work at depths of down to 70 meters.
The vessel can be used for wind turbine installation, heavy load transportation, and assembly, and as an accommodation platform.
