The terminal’s pilot operations showcased its advanced capabilities in handling the world’s largest container vessels. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, including remotely operated cranes, optic fiber data transfer systems, and smart driving systems, Asyad Container Terminal sets a new standard in efficient and technologically advanced port operations.
Boosting Oman’s Global Logistics Hub Status
Asyad Container Terminal not only strengthens Oman’s position as a global logistics hub but also opens doors for private sector partnerships. With three berths capable of handling three ships simultaneously, a quay length exceeding 1,000 meters, and a storage capacity of 26,000 TEU, the terminal is ready to meet the growing demands of local, regional, and global import-export activities.

Eng. Ahmed Akaak, Acting CEO of the Special Economic Zone at Duqm, emphasized the role of the terminal in Oman’s economic diversification. By connecting Duqm with global shipping lines and providing direct access to key global markets, the terminal is set to unlock significant investment opportunities.
Promoting Food Security and Beyond
Dr. Ahmed Al Abri, CEO of Asyad Ports, highlighted the terminal’s role in promoting food security through cold chain solutions tailored for importing and exporting fish and seafood products.
