In the opening panel discussion at Breakbulk Europe on Wednesday 18 May, Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s Carsten Wendt warned of “little fires everywhere that are making the multipurpose world burn”.
These disruptors include lockdowns in China, disruption to our supply chains and vessels, labour shortages and the war in Ukraine.
Ahead of this, the well-known Susan Oatway from Drewry Consultants gave her take on the MPP fleet which is set for slow (if any) growth in the coming years.
Elsewhere, the vibe here in Rotterdam is alight with positivity and the vast majority seem happy to be reunited at this “one big shipping party”.
