With over 12 years of extensive experience in the maritime industry, Dr Ilter has garnered expertise at some of the world’s foremost shipyards and consultancies in Turkey, serving as a Senior Structural Design & Analysis Engineer. His illustrious career took a pivotal turn in 2022 when he joined the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, dedicating himself to fundamental research in hydrodynamics, further solidifying his reputation as a distinguished Naval Architect.
A member of the Turkish Chamber of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, as well as The Royal Institution of Naval Architects, Dr Ilter boasts an MSc and, in 2023, earned his PhD in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Istanbul Technical University. He is also a prolific researcher and author, contributing significantly to the field with several published papers on vessel design and architecture, particularly in the realm of autonomous vessels.
Dr Ilter’s arrival at Brookes Bell’s global team of leading Naval Architects comes at a pivotal moment for the maritime sector. As vessels strive to align with IMO Energy Efficiency Design Index regulations, his robust academic and consultancy background positions him to offer crucial problem-solving and performance optimization advice to clients. Furthermore, Dr Ilter is expected to fortify Brookes Bell’s knowledge base, contributing to the evolution of Naval Architecture trends.
