DENZAI Vietnam Corp. has mobilized a 1,250-ton crawler crane equipped with a 102-meter luffing jib to support the installation of a steel dome roof at the VinFast Trong Dong Stadium in Hanoi, Vietnam, as construction progresses toward a July 2027 completion target.
The heavy lifting operation forms part of the construction of a 135,000-seat stadium being developed by Vingroup within its Hung Vuong International Sports Complex in southern Hanoi.
Working under a contract awarded by TCE Equipment and Service JSC, DENZAI will carry out dome roof lifting operations from October 2026 until June 2027, deploying one of the largest classes of crawler cranes used in major infrastructure construction.
The project requires lifting operations at considerable height around the stadium’s circular structure, which measures 408 meters in diameter.
Heavy Lifting Operations Begin in Hanoi
DENZAI has deployed an SCC12500A crawler crane with a maximum rated lifting capacity of 1,250 tons. The crane is configured with a 102-meter luffing jib to provide the reach and lifting height required for installing sections of the stadium’s steel dome roof.
The equipment has been positioned among the stadium’s structural super-columns, which will support the roof assembly.
The lifting configuration allows the project team to operate at height while working within the constraints of a large circular construction site.

Although the crane has a maximum rated capacity of 1,250 tons, the actual lifting capacity during operations depends on factors including boom configuration, working radius and load position. DENZAI has not disclosed the individual weights of the roof sections or the number of lifts planned.
The crane is scheduled to remain at the site until DENZAI completes its contracted lifting operations in June 2027.
For heavy lifting contractors, projects of this scale require close coordination between crane positioning, structural assembly and construction schedules. The available working space and the sequence in which roof sections are installed are important considerations when planning crane operations.
Stadium Roof Presents Complex Engineering Requirements
The VinFast Trong Dong Stadium is designed as a circular venue inspired by the Dong Son bronze drum, a traditional symbol of Vietnamese heritage.
With a diameter of 408 meters and a planned seating capacity of 135,000 spectators, the stadium requires a substantial steel roof structure spanning the seating areas.

Part of the dome roof will incorporate an automated opening and closing system, adding a mechanical component to the structure.
The combination of the stadium’s dimensions, steel roof construction and movable roof section creates specific requirements for the installation process.
The lifting operations must accommodate the height and positioning of structural components while maintaining alignment with the stadium’s supporting columns.
Construction began in December 2025, with Vingroup targeting completion in July 2027. DENZAI’s lifting programme is scheduled to finish approximately one month before that target.
The company has not provided details of the roof’s total steel weight, the dimensions of individual lifting components or the installation sequence.
Safety and Precision Drive Lifting Programme
The lifting work is being carried out by DENZAI Vietnam in cooperation with TCE, with both companies maintaining project teams at the construction site.
Ta Van Thu, Site Operation Team Leader at DENZAI Vietnam Corp., said the operation requires careful planning and strict safety management throughout the lifting programme.
“We are proud to support the VinFast Trong Dong Stadium, one of the most significant construction projects in Vietnam today. Lifting the dome roof calls for precision at height and an uncompromising focus on safety, and our team is committed to delivering both throughout the project.”
Thu also acknowledged the cooperation with TCE and the company’s role in delivering the stadium’s roof structure.
For a project involving a crane of this capacity, lifting performance depends on more than the equipment’s maximum rated load. Ground bearing conditions, crane configuration, weather conditions and coordination with steel erection teams all influence how lifting operations are planned and executed.
The extended deployment period, running through June 2027, also places the crane within a construction programme lasting several months rather than a series of isolated heavy lifts.
DENZAI Expands Role in Major Infrastructure Construction
The Hanoi stadium project adds to DENZAI Group’s international portfolio of engineered heavy lifting and specialized transport operations.
Founded in 1972 in Muroran, Hokkaido, Japan, DENZAI Group provides crane services, engineered lifting solutions and heavy transport support for industrial and infrastructure projects.
The company employs more than 1,200 people and operates through 14 companies in Japan, with its overseas headquarters based in Singapore.
Its international operations extend across 15 countries, including Vietnam, Thailand, India, Taiwan, Bangladesh, South Korea, Indonesia, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Poland and the United States.
The Vietnam assignment involves a dedicated crawler crane deployment for a large stadium roof installation, with the equipment committed to the site through the final stages of the lifting programme.
Under the current project schedule, DENZAI’s roof lifting activities will continue until June 2027, while Vingroup is targeting completion of the VinFast Trong Dong Stadium in July 2027.
