G2 Ocean creating Project cargo growth

Norway’s G2 Ocean is currently betting heavily on the project cargo and heavylift segment, in which the shipping company has just added two new offices to the list. According to its management, project cargo and heavylift cargo segment attracts the main part of new customers.

At times a company has to find new opportunities in order to create growth. The Norwegian bulk shipping line G2 Ocean appears to follow this strategy. In conventional cargo, the company has already secured a long list of customers for the long-term. Project cargo and the Heavylift industry is meant to be the new revenue stream they have found. “The new customers mainly come from freight out of Asia to Europe, South America and the US. It’s mainly project cargo,” says Chief Executive Rune Birkeland from the G2 Ocean’s project cargo office in Houston, Texas, which opened in September together with their new Hamburg office.
