Heerema Marine Contractors is keen to improve its capabilities in offshore wind installation and has therefore signed a contract with Huisman to introduce this next generation Motion Compensated Pile Gripper to the industry.

The Motion Compensation Pile Gripper will allow Heerema to install monopiles up to 12.5 m in diameter, with a length of up to 115 m and a weight of 3,200 metric tons. The Gripper is designed specifically for Heerema’s SSCV Thialf, where it will be positioned on the side of the vessel.
