Heavy transport specialist Kahl Group is further expanding its impressive fleet with new orders from German company Goldhofer. Kahl, already boasting one of Europe’s largest vehicle fleets, is set to enhance its capabilities with these new additions.
Currently, Kahl operates with 100 self-propelled axle lines (type PST) and around 250 towed axle lines from Goldhofer. The inclusion of split modules within the fleet allows Kahl a wide variety of vehicle width configurations, ranging from 2,430 mm to an impressive 6,350 mm. This flexibility is crucial for handling diverse and challenging transportation projects.
The recent order includes 30 axle lines of the PST/ES-E (315) type and 8 axle lines of PST/ES-E (285) with variable track width. These additions promise to bolster Kahl’s operational efficiency and capacity significantly.

Andreas Kahl, managing director of Kahl Group, emphasized the strategic choice behind this procurement. “We opted for the Goldhofer self-propelled modules because they offer unique and unrivaled tractive power and performance, which is essential for our challenging projects. We are convinced of the technical advantages that Goldhofer offers as a market leader in the heavy haul industry. Also of decisive importance for us is the ability of the PST/ES-E (285) modules, with a basic width of 2.43 metres, to widen under load. This enables us to organize our transports even more efficiently and safely,” Kahl remarked.
Additionally, Kahl has recently integrated 38 axle lines of the new Goldhofer FT Series heavy-duty modules into its fleet. The FT Series is touted as a modular transport system, offering a high degree of flexibility and investment security, capable of adapting to various requirements and loads.
With its expansive fleet, Kahl Group can transport payloads up to 10,000 tonnes using its own equipment. The company continues to invest strategically in new locations across northern and eastern Germany, further cementing its position as a leader in the heavy transport industry.
