Procureship, the Athens-based leader in e-procurement platforms for the maritime industry, has announced the launch of its new office in Singapore. This expansion aims to better serve shipowners, managers, and operators in the region, offering them the benefits of Procureship’s cutting-edge e-procurement system, powered by machine learning (ML) and automation.

Heading the Singapore office is Prema Muthusamy, a seasoned maritime and procurement specialist with over two decades of experience in the Asia-Pacific market. Her background includes roles as the Head of Sales at Japan Marine Services and the Vice President of Sales at JiBe, a shipping technology company.

Ms. Muthusamy expressed her enthusiasm about joining Procureship during this pivotal moment in the industry. She emphasized the growing importance of digital systems in enhancing operational efficiency for shipowners. She believes Procureship’s platform, with its unique blend of automation and ML, sets it apart as a market leader.

Grigoris Lamprou, the Chief Executive Officer of Procureship, expressed confidence in Ms. Muthusamy’s ability to promote the company’s offerings in the Asia-Pacific region. He commended her deep understanding of digital platforms in the maritime sector and her passion for the industry.

Already boasting a user base in Asia, including clients like Suntech Ship Management, The Great Eastern Shipping Company, and Zeaborn Ship Management, Procureship’s Singapore office is poised to strengthen ties with local stakeholders. Singapore, a hub for maritime activity, presents significant opportunities for the company to enhance procurement processes for shipowners and operators.

Mr. Lamprou pointed out that regardless of fleet size, shipowners and operators in Singapore are constantly seeking ways to enhance efficiency and reduce costs, especially in procurement. Procureship’s digitally advanced platform promises to eliminate manual work, seamlessly connecting marine buyers, suppliers, and service providers to streamline procurement processes.

The expansion to Singapore follows Procureship’s recent entry into the Northern European market with the opening of its operations in Copenhagen, Denmark, in February 2023. Additionally, the company has enriched its platform with features like IHM documentation compliance, advanced e-invoicing processing, and upcoming freight forwarding optimization, all of which leverage advanced analytics and automation to boost operational efficiency in procurement.

As Procureship continues to broaden its global reach, it remains at the forefront of digital innovation in the maritime industry, helping stakeholders navigate the evolving landscape of procurement.
