Moritz Becker and Colin D’Abreo are set to spearhead the global Rhenus Project Logistics unit with a focus on expansion and innovation. Becker will manage operations across Europe, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and Southeast Asia and the Pacific (SEAPAC), while D’Abreo will oversee the Americas, India, China, and the Middle East and Africa (MEA). These appointments come as Carsten Schröter departs from the company.
Becker, who joined Rhenus in 2017, has nearly two decades of leadership experience. His journey began as the Head of Projects in Germany, eventually becoming the Managing Director of Project Logistics Germany. His commitment and strong leadership skills were further recognized in 2023 when he was appointed Managing Director of Rhenus Offshore Logistics Germany.
D’Abreo brings over 30 years of extensive leadership experience, beginning his career at KOG Transport Inc. Following Rhenus’ acquisition of KOG in 2015, he served as Executive Vice President and later as President of KOG, guiding the company through its rebranding and transition to Rhenus in 2019. He continued to lead as President of Rhenus Projects Logistics in the USA.
The combined expertise of Becker and D’Abreo is expected to drive Rhenus Project Logistics globally, with a strategic emphasis on network expansion and product development in sectors such as renewables, energy, mining, oil & gas, and steel plants. They will also prioritize decarbonization efforts and enhance chartering and engineering capabilities to ensure global development success.
In his new role, Becker will prioritize expanding Rhenus’ presence in the renewables sector and providing turnkey solutions for industrial projects in Turkey and the CIS, alongside expanding the network in SEAPAC. Meanwhile, D’Abreo will focus on strengthening the North American market, particularly in oil, gas, and renewables, and expanding offshore services in Eastern Canada. He also aims to grow Rhenus project logistics services in Latin America, especially in the mining and solar industries, and strengthen connections in India’s export market. Furthermore, D’Abreo will maintain Rhenus Group’s leading position in China for project cargo and establish a robust project structure in the MEA region.
Jan Harnisch, Global CEO of Rhenus Air & Ocean, expressed confidence in the new leadership. “We have the utmost confidence in Colin and Moritz as Co-Vice President Directors of Project Logistics. With their combined expertise and proven track record, we trust their strategic leadership will play a pivotal role in propelling the ongoing success and expansion of Rhenus Project Logistics on a global scale.”
Rhenus Group, a leading logistics specialist with operations worldwide, generates an annual turnover of EUR 7.5 billion. Its 40,000 employees work at 1,320 business sites in over 70 countries, developing innovative solutions along the complete supply chain.
