Saipem will be involved in the Baleine Phase 1 project, aiming to develop the offshore oil and gas field in a water depth of 1,200m. The contracts were awarded by the ENI Cote d’Ivoire-Petroci consortium. The consortium recognises Saipem’s role as an excellent contractor for the execution of complex projects.

The first contract is for the engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) activities of Subsea Umbilicals, Risers and Flowlines (SURF) and an onshore gas pipeline for connection to the distribution grid.

The second contract covers the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities for the modernisation of the M.V. Firenze, an FPSO vessel, as well as 10 years of operation and maintenance services for the vessel.

These contracts underline Saipem’s important role in offshore projects in West Africa.
