Unsworth Appoints Thomas Kuehn as Managing Director

Unsworth, a prominent independent freight forwarder, has announced the appointment of Thomas Kuehn as the managing director of its UK business. This strategic move comes as part of the company’s restructuring efforts, with Richard Hogg transitioning to the role of chief executive officer (CEO) for the Unsworth group, and Charles Hogg assuming leadership of the company’s client solutions team as commercial director.

Kuehn brings with him a wealth of experience, having served as the managing director at World Transport Agency (WTA) for nearly a decade. Prior to his tenure at WTA, he held the position of global key account director at JE Bernard for ten years and served as a director at Kuehne+Nagel. His extensive background in developing independent freight forwarding businesses makes him a valuable addition to the Unsworth team.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Kuehn stated, “My vision for the future of freight forwarding aligns perfectly with Unsworth’s demonstrable investment in technological innovation and business processes, proven commitment to client satisfaction, and the promotion of a culture of continuous improvement.” He emphasized the pivotal role of technology in driving the company’s growth trajectory and highlighted his intention to leverage data and technological solutions to enhance customer service and maintain a competitive edge in the market.

Richard Hogg, CEO of the Unsworth group, underscored the significance of Kuehn’s appointment, particularly in the context of the company’s milestone year. He remarked, “In a landmark year for the company, this appointment is part of our ongoing strategy to strengthen our senior management team and capabilities to ensure that we can meet our expansion goals in the UK and overseas.”

As Unsworth gears up to celebrate its golden jubilee in 2024, the appointment of Thomas Kuehn signals the organization’s commitment to driving growth and innovation in the ever-evolving landscape of freight forwarding and logistics.
