The M.V. Calypso has been launched at VARD’s shipyard in Romania. The vessel is an important addition to Van Oord’s offshore wind fleet.
Apart from being able to run on biofuel, this 130-metre hybrid vessel has future-proof engines with built-in flexibility to anticipate e-fuels.
The vessel will be equipped with a large battery pack, a shore connection and an energy management system that is expected to reduce CO2, NOx and SOx emissions.
