Antwerp XL attracts key stakeholders from across the Breakbulk industry

Antwerp XL, has received support from breakbulk specialists across the globe.Antwerp XL 2019

The new exhibition for the breakbulk sector is hosted by the Port of Antwerp, the inaugural event is being strategically held in the heart of the European breakbulk sector,

Hartel Shipping & Chartering, global logistics expert Samskip, maritime service provider Conti7 and storage and handling specialist Overt are just some of the big names already signed up to this event already and more are expected.

‘This inaugural event will give Antwerp the opportunity to present to cargo owners and specialized transportation professionals from around the globe.’

Launched just eight weeks ago, Antwerp XL is already attracting a wide range of companies specializing in heavy-lift, specialized shipments and those involved in moving the world’s largest cargoes.

As well as local expert companies, the event has also attracted companies from further afield. American Roll on Roll off Carriers, the Port of Duqm in Oman and Liburnia Maritime Croatia are all exhibiting on the back of the show’s prime location.

“Antwerp XL is the global meeting point for all specialists in the field of steel and project cargo. Already, the event has resulted in a new transshipment flow via our terminal from Russia to the Mediterranean, by bringing two of our existing customers in contact with each other” explains Dirk Mondelaers, General Manager, Wijngaard Natie Terminals.

Antwerp is situated in a prime location in Europe with good trimodal connectivity – barge, rail, and truck. The Port boasts a dense network of regular breakbulk sailings and importantly, all the major breakbulk carriers have a presence.

With AntwerpXL and the Project Cargo Summit in Rotterdam being both held in the same week, it is a busy week for the breakbulk and project cargo industry. New in this sector is also the upcoming Heavy Lift & Project Logistics Leadership Summit (HL&PLSummit 6-7 February 2019) where all parties that exhibit in the above two events, shall be present to discuss the past year and the upcoming year as well as innovation, and other developments in the industry with many speakers.
