AAL Expands Premium Project Cargo Services in Taiwan with New Agency Appointment

AAL Shipping (AAL) is set to bolster its premium project heavy lift services in Taiwan with the appointment of Taiwan Wallem Transportation Co., Ltd. as its exclusive commercial and port agency representative. This strategic move solidifies AAL’s footprint in Taiwan after over two decades of local representation.

The Wallem Group, established in 1903, has been a stalwart in port and commercial agency services, particularly across Asia. With a well-earned reputation, the Wallem Group has been instrumental in elevating AAL’s performance in South Korea since its exclusive agency representation appointment in 2022.

Christophe Grammare, AAL’s Managing Director, emphasized Taiwan’s significance as a pivotal market in Asia, serving as a hub for exports of steel, yachts, and engineered industrial project components to major trading partners like Australia, the US, and Europe. AAL has been a steadfast presence in Taiwan, providing the local multipurpose cargo shipping community with an array of flexible ocean transportation solutions. These encompass scheduled liner operations, regular trade lane sailings, and tramp services that forge vital connections between the region and its trading partners.

Grammare expressed confidence in the partnership with Wallem, underscoring their reliability and extensive knowledge of the local Taiwanese shipping community. Their collective aim is to comprehensively expand and fortify the market. Together, they will offer highly competitive premium multipurpose and project heavy lift cargo solutions, further penetrating the local market.

This strategic move by AAL signals a dynamic shift in the maritime landscape, solidifying their position as a leader in premium project heavy lift carriers. The expansion in Taiwan underscores their commitment to meeting the evolving needs of dynamic industries such as oil & gas, mining, energy, construction, and agriculture.
