The Bolloré Group and the CMA CGM Group jointly announced the successful completion of the sale of Bolloré Logistics to CMA CGM. The acquisition, valued at 4.85 billion euros, marks CMA CGM’s largest venture since its inception in 1978. This strategic move aligns with the CMA CGM Group’s logistics development strategy, diversifying its portfolio and reinforcing its global presence.
Bolloré Logistics, a stalwart in the transport and logistics sector, boasted a 2022 turnover of 7.1 billion euros, transporting 710,000 TEUs of ocean freight and 390,000 tons of air freight. Additionally, it boasts a substantial storage capacity of 900,000 m2. The completion of this deal positions the newly formed entity, comprising CEVA and Bolloré Logistics, as the world’s fifth-largest player in the logistics sector.
Rodolphe Saadé, CEO and Chairman of the CMA CGM Group, expressed gratitude to the Bolloré Group, highlighting the successful collaboration leading to the acquisition. Saadé emphasized the proud addition of a French flagship to the CMA CGM Group, envisioning a global service expansion and the integration of expertise into new business domains. This acquisition awaits the finalization of the transfer of Bolloré Logistics Sweden AB, pending foreign investment clearance in Sweden. The completion date reflects a significant milestone in the trajectory of both groups, setting the stage for a collaborative and impactful future.
