Breakbulk23 Conference Set to Take Place in New Orleans in April 19-21, 2023

The Breakbulk and Project Cargo Conference, “Breakbulk23,” organized by The Journal of Commerce within S&P Global, is the premier, senior-level conference for the breakbulk and project cargo shipping and logistics community. It will be held April 19-21, 2023, in New Orleans.

The JOC Breakbulk and Project Cargo Conference, will explore these big-picture issues while drilling down into more granular topics including:

  • Risk mitigation for project and breakbulk shippers
  • Outlooks for the project cargo and renewables pipelines
  • How do shippers and service providers strengthen relationships
  • Increasing transparency in project supply chains
  • How the MPV/HL sector is planning to meet demand in the face of a tight tonnage supply and increasingly stringent IMO regulations
  • The lack of a “silver bullet” answer to the question of green/greener fuels
  • Barge, rail, and heavy-haul transport

Founded three decades ago and reestablished by the Journal of Commerce in 2019, Breakbulk23 is first and foremost based on an editorially independent and rigorous conference program developed by the JOC’s journalists — subject matter experts covering international transportation and logistics — in consultation with industry members. Breakbulk23’s in-depth conference program delves into the most pressing challenges affecting breakbulk and project cargo shippers in North America and globally.

Breakbulk23 attracts the most specialized project and breakbulk cargo audience in this industry. In addition to presenting the conference program, Breakbulk23 serves as a platform for essential and intensive networking, negotiations, and relationship-building within the project and breakbulk logistics supply chain, including shippers, carriers, forwarders, land transport providers, technology providers, ports, terminals, railroads, and others who participate in this market.

Breakbulk23 is the only event the Journal of Commerce produces for the breakbulk, heavy lift and project cargo maritime market. Breakbulk23 supports but is not affiliated with the Breakbulk Americas, Breakbulk Europe, and Breakbulk Middle East exhibitions. The Journal of Commerce, founded in 1827 and part of the global information company S&P Global, is the leading specialized information provider in international transportation and logistics, led by JOC.com and its independent, authoritative coverage of the end-to-end international supply chain, including breakbulk, air and ocean, ports, trucking, intermodal, and technology.
