COSCO SHIPPING Specialised Carriers Launches Dedicated Carrier Service for Transporting Construction Vehicles to Southeast Africa.
Recently, M.V. FENG HUANG SONG, a carrier operated by COSCO SHIPPING Specialised Carriers and loaded with 467 tractors, tankers, and mining trucks, gradually departed from the Port of Qingdao in Shandong Province and sailed to the distant African continent.
This is the first dedicated service customised and launched by COSCO SHIPPING Specialised Carriers for FAW to deliver its construction vehicles to Southeast Africa. Based on a full analysis of the customer needs, the project team decided to use a multipurpose carrier with three decks to perform the undertaking and designed the service specifically for the customer considering its need for the greatest convenience of delivery after negotiating with the ports concerned.
As the initial market that many Chinese construction vehicle manufacturers have entered, Africa is also one of the largest export destinations for these types of products. In recent years, as many Chinese enterprises have implemented infrastructure projects and built factories in Africa, the local demand for construction vehicles is growing. Meanwhile, export difficulties encountered by Chinese construction vehicle manufacturers have also become more prominent due to the constraints of ro-ro ship transport capacity and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Being a responsible central enterprise, COSCO SHIPPING Specialised Carriers contacted FAW and SINOTRUK to fully examine the customer needs, and ultimately decided to use a multipurpose vessel with three decks. To meet the customer needs for the greatest convenience of delivery, the company communicated and discussed with the ports concerned and designed the service specifically for the customer.
