Erik Thun AB has granted Ferus Smit Shipyards the order for building 8 new vessels. The contracts consist of four multi-purpose dry cargo vessels of 5100 dwt with Ice class 1B and four 7999 dwt coastal tankers which add to the two previously ordered resource efficient ’R-class’ tankers. The vessels will be built at Ferus Smit’s yard in Westerbroek and are expected to be delivered between 2024 and 2027.
