Jettainer has appointed Jorg Krings as Senior Global Account Manager, adding more than 25 years of air cargo and international account management experience as the unit load device specialist seeks to deepen customer relationships and develop new business globally.
Krings joined the company on September 1, 2026, and will focus on identifying commercial opportunities while expanding relationships with existing and prospective airline customers.
The appointment strengthens Jettainer’s global account management operation at a time when airlines are placing greater emphasis on efficient ULD management, equipment availability and specialist solutions for temperature sensitive cargo.
More than two decades at Envirotainer
Krings joins Jettainer after spending more than 20 years at Envirotainer, where he most recently served as Global Key Account Manager, Airlines.
His work involved international airline customers and included experience in Cool ULDs, ULD leasing and air cargo operations. ULDs, or unit load devices, are the containers and pallets used to consolidate baggage and freight for transport aboard aircraft.
That background will be used at Jettainer to identify customer requirements and translate them into commercial and operational solutions, the company said.
Thorsten Riekert, Chief Sales Officer at Jettainer, said Krings brought extensive industry knowledge and experience in developing international customer relationships.
“His deep understanding of the air cargo market and his experience in building and developing international customer relationships will help us further strengthen our global sales activities and create additional value for our customers,” Riekert said.
Customer input to feed product development
Krings will work with existing and prospective customers from the assessment of their requirements through to implementation of individual solutions.
Jettainer said his experience across Cool ULDs, leasing and cargo operations would allow him to provide guidance tailored to different airline requirements.
The role will extend beyond sales and account development. Customer feedback and operational requirements gathered through Krings’ work will also be incorporated into the development of Jettainer’s products and services.
For airlines, ULD management represents a relatively small but operationally important part of the wider cargo chain. Containers and pallets need to be positioned where required across international networks while avoiding shortages, unnecessary repositioning and excess equipment inventories.
Specialist temperature controlled ULDs add another layer of complexity, particularly for pharmaceutical and other sensitive cargo where equipment availability and handling conditions can affect shipment integrity.
Focus on existing and new partnerships
Krings said the new role would focus on understanding individual customer requirements and creating value for their operations.
He will work with Jettainer’s team to strengthen existing customer relationships, establish new partnerships and identify additional business opportunities.
The appointment adds Krings’ airline account management experience to Jettainer’s commercial operation as the company continues developing its international customer base and ULD services.
