A.P. Moller – Maersk has opened a new shared service centre in Warsaw, Poland, designed to support its expanding customer base across Europe. The site officially opened on 21 August and is already staffed by more than 100 employees representing nine nationalities.

The new office, located in Warsaw’s Wola district, sits at the heart of the city’s rapidly developing financial and business hub. Over the past decade, Wola has become a focal point for international companies, offering both modern infrastructure and access to Poland’s growing talent pool. For Maersk, the move is part of a broader effort to centralise operations and deliver more consistent customer service across the region.

A Strategic Step in Europe

The company’s Head of Global Service Centre organisation, Caroline Wu, highlighted the importance of the Warsaw office, saying, “Adding a new location in Warsaw not only strengthens our presence in Europe but also underscores our commitment to improve customer experience, centralise and standardise operations.”

Poland has increasingly positioned itself as a regional hub for logistics, IT, and business services, and Maersk’s decision reflects that trend. Warsaw provides access to multilingual talent, a key factor for a company operating across more than 130 countries.

Aymeric Chandavoine, EVP and President Europe, noted, “It is fantastic to see how this project has taken shape, as we now have a new hub in the heart of Warsaw, helping us serve our customers across the region. This is a testament to Poland’s great potential as a talent hub.”

Supporting Growth and Efficiency

The service centre aims to enhance efficiency and provide support in several languages, addressing the needs of European customers who increasingly expect flexible and reliable logistics services. The average age of the team in Warsaw is 28, indicating a young, dynamic workforce that Maersk believes can bring new perspectives into the business.

The facility itself has been developed with sustainability and collaboration in mind, aligning with Maersk’s broader ambition to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040. The company has been investing in new technologies, alternative fuels, and modern vessels to meet that target.

With its Warsaw office now fully operational, Maersk is looking to solidify its European operations by integrating talent, technology, and customer service in one location. The site is expected to play a pivotal role as the company continues to expand its presence across the continent.
