ONE’s Workshop on Loss Prevention Strengthens Collaboration with P&I Clubs and Maritime Experts

Ocean Network Express (ONE) celebrated the success of its inaugural interactive loss prevention workshop, held at the company’s headquarters in Singapore. The event, held on November 7, 2023, brought together key stakeholders including representatives from renowned Protection and Indemnity (P&I) clubs such as NorthStandard Club, UK P&I Club, Steamship Mutual, as well as ONE’s insurance provider, TM Claims Service Asia, and broker, Marsh. The workshop also saw participation from ONE’s fleet management, vessel operation, and marine safety teams.

The primary objective of the workshop was to facilitate open dialogue and collaboration between ONE and its P&I clubs, insurance provider, and broker with a specific focus on loss prevention. Throughout the course of the event, representatives and participants exchanged valuable expertise and insights on a range of critical issues including operational security, cargo handling and stowage, fire safety, vessel maneuvering challenges, navigation risks, and accident prevention.

Shingo Iwasaki, General Manager and global legal head at ONE, expressed the company’s commitment to working hand in hand with P&I clubs and loss prevention experts to minimize losses and uphold the quality of their services. He emphasized, “This workshop was a valuable opportunity for us to share ideas and best practices with our partners.”

This initiative is part of ONE’s ongoing efforts to explore collaboration opportunities with P&I clubs and maritime experts, as well as their insurance provider and broker, aimed at enhancing operational quality to ensure the provision of safe and reliable services.
