Ocean Network Express Expands Transpacific Network with Asia Pacific 1 (AP1) Service

Ocean Network Express (ONE) is set to elevate its transpacific service with the introduction of the Asia Pacific 1 (AP1) service, connecting key Asian ports to the U.S. West Coast. The move comes in response to the sustained growth of import volumes from Asia to the U.S. West Coast, demonstrating ONE’s commitment to meeting customer demands.

In a strategic initiative, ONE aims to solidify its position in the transpacific market by extending its coverage within the existing network. The AP1 service introduces direct routes from Taipei and Shekou to the U.S. West Coast, marking a significant enhancement to the overall service network.

The return leg of the AP1 service offers expedited transit times, with a swift journey from the U.S. West Coast back to Vietnam. Anticipated transit times include 19 days to Haiphong and 22 days to Cai Mep, streamlining the shipping process and ensuring timely cargo delivery.

Yu Kurimoto, Managing Director of ONE, underscores the importance of the transpacific market within ONE’s global network. Kurimoto emphasizes, “The introduction of the AP1 service underscores ONE’s unwavering commitment to this crucial trade lane. Complementing our existing product mix, we are dedicated to delivering outstanding, reliable, and holistic services.”

The AP1 service is poised to kick off its inaugural sailing in late Spring, expected around April or May. Specific details regarding the launch, including the exact date, will be announced soon, pending regulatory clearance.

The AP1 service is not only a testament to ONE’s dedication to the transpacific market but also reflects the company’s continuous efforts to optimize shipping routes, reduce transit times, and enhance overall service quality.

As the shipping industry faces challenges such as rising cargo volumes and changing trade patterns, ONE’s expansion of its transpacific network through the AP1 service demonstrates a proactive approach in addressing these challenges and ensuring a seamless experience for its customers.
