Ocean Network Express Expands Footprint with New West Asia Regional Headquarters in Dubai

Ocean Network Express (ONE) takes a significant leap forward in its global expansion strategy with the establishment of its West Asia Regional Headquarters in the bustling city of Dubai. This strategic move is set to propel ONE’s growth and solidify its footprint in the rapidly evolving markets of the Indian Subcontinent, Middle East, and East Africa.

The West Asia Regional Headquarters, situated in the heart of Dubai, will function as ONE’s central hub for crucial operations spanning the Indian Subcontinent, Middle East, and East Africa. This includes pivotal areas such as commercial activities, customer service, and digitization. Additionally, the office will host a dedicated team focused on cultivating regional trade partnerships and uncovering untapped business opportunities within the region.

Taking the helm as the Regional Director of West Asia Regional Headquarters is the seasoned maritime professional, Sundeep Sibal, effective April 1, 2024. Sibal, who previously served as the Head of Transpacific and Transatlantic Trades at ONE since 2018, brings a wealth of commercial and operational management experience to his new role. His extensive background includes overseeing MOL’s regional businesses in the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and Southeast Asia.

Jeremy Nixon, ONE’s CEO, emphasized the strategic importance of the move, stating, “The Middle East, Indian subcontinent, and East Africa regions have become increasingly key growth markets for ONE, for both our inter-regional and deep-sea network customers.” He highlighted the significance of relocating the regional oversight from Singapore to Dubai, bringing the company closer to these vital markets.

Expressing gratitude for Sibal’s contributions, Nixon added, “Sundeep Sibal has been a key member of ONE’s senior management team since the inception of the company, and has an intricate knowledge of West Asia. We wish him every success with this new appointment.”

In response to his appointment, Sundeep Sibal shared his enthusiasm, stating, “I am deeply honored to be entrusted with leading ONE’s efforts in this dynamic and growing region.” Looking ahead to 2024, Sibal mentioned the deployment of several new services, including the West India North America (WIN) service, Indian Ocean Mediterranean (IOM) service, and an expanded Intra Asia loop network. He emphasized the collaborative approach of the passionate team at the new regional office, aiming to be closer to customers, understand their unique requirements, and respond with more customized services.
