QTerminals Kramer Rotterdam Site RTW-II Connected to Container Exchange Route

QTerminals Kramer Rotterdam and the Port of Rotterdam Authority have inked a deal concerning the temporary integration of the Rail Terminal West II (RTW-II) site with the Container Exchange Route (CER). RTW-II, nestled on the Magallanestraat on the Maasvlakte, serves as a provisional location for QTerminals Kramer Rotterdam.

Through the CER, RTW-II will establish connectivity with various other QTerminals Kramer Rotterdam locations (RCT, KCL/DCS, KDD), the State Inspection Terminal of Dutch Customs, Rotterdam World Gateway (RWG) terminal, and the ECT Delta terminal.

With this pact, all terminals and depots under QTerminals Kramer Rotterdam’s umbrella will soon be seamlessly linked to the CER. The connections for KDD and RTW-II are slated for completion within the current year.

The existing 17-kilometer closed road network not only interconnects QTerminals Kramer Rotterdam’s terminals and depots but also extends its reach to RWG’s container terminals, Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam’s Delta terminal, and the State Inspection Terminal.

The CER was initiated towards the end of November 2023. Since then, there has been a consistent uptick in transported volumes along the road network, with thousands of trips already logged. Anticipated in the near future are additional connections with terminals, depots, and distribution centers. The Port Authority’s objective is to inclusively link as many container companies as feasible with the CER, given the availability of a physical link.
