Sarens, the global leader in heavy lifting and transportation solutions, has played a pivotal role in the construction of the awe-inspiring Al Hadarat Bridge in Cairo, a monumental endeavor that promises to stand as one of Africa’s highest bridges. Collaborating with the esteemed Arab Contractors, Sarens executed two awe-inspiring lifting operations that have propelled the bridge project closer to its glorious completion.

A Towering Achievement: Lifting the Backbone

Sarens commenced this monumental venture by deftly orchestrating the lifting and installation of eleven colossal 150-ton, 41-meter steel beams. This herculean task was executed with utmost precision, employing a meticulously selected CC4800 crane in SSL configuration, boasting a commanding 66-meter main boom alongside a robust 270-ton SL CW. Throughout the course of a single week, a four-member crew orchestrated a remarkable symphony of engineering, performing a total of 11 meticulously planned picks.

Precision Amidst Constraints

The choice of equipment proved to be a masterstroke, as the CC4800 crane demonstrated its mettle seamlessly during the operation. Having been brought to the site following its successful engagement in a prior project, the crane’s deployment involved a five-day rigging process. The crew worked tirelessly within confined spaces, sometimes maneuvering with a mere 10-centimeter clearance – a testament to their exceptional skill and unwavering dedication.

Reaching New Heights: Sarens Continues to Shine

Undeterred by the challenges faced, Sarens pressed forward with their unwavering commitment to excellence. Introducing the formidable CC2600H, boasting an impressive 78-meter main boom, the stage was set for another series of extraordinary lifts. This time, the focus was on installing 63 beams, each weighing a substantial 90 tons and spanning an impressive 50 meters. The four-person crew executed this intricate choreography with finesse, performing a remarkable total of 63 lifts over a span of three weeks.

Precision Personified

The CC2600H’s selection was driven by its remarkable capacity, underscoring the paramount importance of positioning during the meticulous planning phase. As the project demanded an intricate sequence of tight lifts, the crane was sourced from a previously successful mission and underwent a meticulously orchestrated three-day rigging process. Its placement, once again, was a feat in itself, maneuvering within a mere 15-centimeter radius from its surroundings.

A Symphony of Collaboration

Beyond the machinery, the collaborative spirit between Sarens and their esteemed client was a key ingredient in the project’s success. Project Manager Mohamed Abd El Nasser and Country Manager Essam Adel worked in harmonious tandem, leaving no stone unturned in ensuring meticulous planning and flawless execution. Every minute detail, from the number of lifts to the precise installation locations, was meticulously scrutinized.

A Triumph Amidst Adversity

Braving even the challenges posed by high winds, the indomitable team at Sarens emerged victorious, successfully completing the requisite lifts for this iconic Al Hadarat Bridge project. As the world watches in awe, Sarens takes pride in its indispensable contribution towards transforming this visionary project into a living reality.
