Shiploader and Berth Replacement (SABR) Project Starts in Hay Point

The Shiploader and Berth Replacement (SABR) Project involves the disassembly and replacement of one of the existing shiploaders and berths at the Hay Point Coal Terminal to improve cyclone immunity and ensure long-term sustainability of the operations.

Transhipped from AAL Shipping’s AAL Dampier the cargo included 14 anchor piles and 14 piles, was supported by two barges, two tugs, and one multicat over the two-day operation.

“The Port of Mackay continues to play its part in the growth of local industries handling the first shipment for BMA’s Hay Point Shiploader and Berth Replacement (SABR) Project.”
