The MV Southern Rock has successfully completed her maiden journey, carrying a substantial cargo from Bilbao and Aveiro to Rostock. The vessel was loaded with a remarkable assortment of wind turbine components, including:
- 4 nacelles with a combined weight of 373 tons
- 4 hubs
- 4 drivetrains
- 4 transformers (trafo’s)
- 12 blades measuring an impressive 76 x 4 x 3 meters each
The total weight of the load surpassed 1421 tons.
This cargo was intended for the assembly of 4 wind turbines, all transported in a single trip, excluding the tower itself. The ultimate destination for these components is the Sipsdorf wind farm in Germany.
