Successful Transport and Shipment of ASCOD Armored Vehicles in Spain

Totallogistic was involved in the transportation and subsequent shipment of 17 units of ASCOD armored vehicles from Seville to the port of Algeciras. These vehicles, manufactured by General Dynamics European Land Systems, were transported by special road transport directly from the manufacturer’s facilities in Seville to the North Pier of the Algeciras port. The vehicles were then carefully positioned, awaiting the arrival of the designated ship.

The loading and stowage operations took place on board the M.V. Mittelplate, a tweendecker general cargo ship owned by Briese Schiffahrts GmbH & Co. KG. The operations, executed from early morning until 6 p.m., were carried out with exceptional performance, operability, and safety for both the cargo and personnel involved. The M.V. Mittelplate, built in 2009, boasts a length of 86 meters, a beam of 12.40 meters, and a GT of 2,415.

The ASCOD tracked vehicles, manufactured at the Santa Bárbara factory in Seville, possess dimensions exceeding 7 meters in length and 3 meters in width, with an approximate weight of 26 tons (excluding artillery components).
