Varamar, a prominent carrier specializing in breakbulk, dry-bulk, oversized, and containerized cargo, has strategically responded to the escalating demand in the Caspian and Middle East regions by inaugurating a new branch in İstanbul, Türkiye.

The newly-established office, under the leadership of Emre Öncü, the recently appointed managing director of Varamar İstanbul, marks another milestone following recent branch openings in Shanghai, Houston, and Athens. Emre Öncü brings a wealth of experience in the shipping industry, having previously held a senior chartering role at Core Shipping in İstanbul.

The decision to open a branch in İstanbul in September aligns with Varamar’s commitment to meeting the rising demand in the region. Varamar operates semi-liner services connecting Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa, covering the Mediterranean and Black Seas, along with Türkiye.

Emre Öncü (image above) expressed the strategic significance of the İstanbul branch, stating, “We see the growing potential of Türkiye, and the wider Caspian and Middle East region, and would therefore like to lay the foundation for the company’s future growth on the crossroads between east and west.”

Varamar, established in 2009, has built a reputation for providing reliable shipping solutions. The İstanbul operation will offer a comprehensive range of services, including document support, port operations monitoring, engineering, as well as unparalleled cargo care and customer service.

The company’s extensive experience encompasses the development of transport solutions for diverse cargoes such as dismantled plants, factories, wind turbines, bridges, vehicles, and even stadiums. Varamar has developed proprietary shipping methods based on in-house competency and is actively engaged in tramp shipments of dry-bulk cargo and containers.

Varamar’s global presence includes representative offices in Europe (Belgium, Germany, Greece, Italy, Türkiye, and Ukraine), North America (Canada, the USA), Asia (China), and the Middle East (United Arab Emirates).

In summary, Varamar’s expansion into İstanbul fortifies its position in facilitating seamless shipping solutions, emphasizing its commitment to bridging the gap between the east and west.
