Hansa Meyer has shared some impressions of their recently executed end-to-end project in Thailand/Laos in their newest video which shows some of the challenges they were confronted with along the way.
This project involved land and river transportation across Thailand and Laos including challenging barge crossings over the Mekong River, transporting 50 pieces of cargo from Laem Chabang, Thailand to Nam Theun 1 Hydropower plant in Laos.
Hansa Meyer and Mammoet worked closely together to execute multiple simultaneous operations.
“It’s not only the transport from A to B a true project forwarder is taking care of. Our job usually comes with detailed preparations in regard to obtaining required permits, engineering and feasibility studies and coordination with governments to only name a few.”
The recent successful project execution underlines Hansa Meyer’s position as one of the market leaders in Southeast Asia when it comes to “real” end-to-end project logistics.
The video includes:
• Nam Theun 1 HPP
• Laem Chabang, Thailand to Nam Theun 1 HPP, Laos
• 1,100km across Thailand and Laos including challenging barge crossings over the Mekong River
• Coordination with government authorities and other stakeholders, i.e. to arrange special border openings during a global pandemic
• Heavy pieces weighing up to 236 tonnes each
