Zeamarine executives, Nicki Schumacher, former chief operating officer, and Matthias Kremser, the carrier’s regional director for Europe, have joined German shipping company THB Transport- und Handelsberatungsgesellschaft.
Since the beginning of April, both Schumacher and Kremser are brokering in the Shipping and Chartering Division at THB, as Zeamarine winds down its business.
THB Transport- und Handelsberatungsgesellschaft mbH is part of the Drewes Group and serves as a shipbroker in the bulk and breakbulk segment. The company has special expertise in the transport of iron ore, coal, grain, wood pellets, steel, aluminium and scrap metal, from handy to capesize shipments. Freight contracts vary from short term spot to long term timecharters.
Zeamarine’s German booking and operating divisions – Zeamarine Bremen, Zeamarine Germany and Zeamarine Chartering – filed for insolvency at the Bremen District Court in February. Since then a number of Zeamarine offices around the world have been closed in Germany, Denmark, Belgium and Japan. The company’s website is now offline.
The Zeaborn Ship Management Group continues as before and remains unaffected by the insolvency of Zeamarine.
