On February 8, 2024, Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE) marked a significant milestone as it celebrated 12½ years of remarkable contributions to the wind power industry in the Netherlands and beyond. Established over a decade ago, HHWE has been at the forefront of promoting wind energy, playing a pivotal role in shaping the offshore wind market landscape.
Wim Jenniskens,Holland Home of Wind Energy esteemed chairman, officially Kicked off the celebration. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as we reflect on the incredible strides made in the renewable energy sector during our journey. “It’s a moment of pride for us to have our valued members and partners standing beside us on this significant occasion.” Wim left the members saying, his out look for the future is, “To boldly go where no one has gon before”.
The anniversary gathering was a joyous affair, bringing together members and partners to reflect on the organization’s journey and commemorate its achievements. Keynote speaker Mr. Søren Lassen, Global Head of Offshore Wind Research at Wood MacKenzie, provided valuable insights into the current state of the offshore wind market, setting the stage for discussions on the future of wind power.
Over the years, HHWE has demonstrated remarkable growth and impact. Initially focused on fostering wind energy partnerships visiting China, the organization swiftly expanded its reach to encompass other Asian nations, including Korea, Japan, and Taiwan. Today, HHWE boasts a global presence, actively engaging in initiatives across various countries such as the United States, Ireland, France, Germany, Sweden, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and Greece.
At the anniversary event, recognition was bestowed upon individuals who have played pivotal roles in HHWE’s success story. Among them were the esteemed board members, each receiving tokens of appreciation from Mr. Arjan Schutten, the Managing Director of HHWE. Mr. Schutten, hailed as the visionary behind HHWE’s ascent, has been instrumental in steering the organization to its current standing.
Looking ahead, HHWE remains committed to its mission of advancing wind energy and supporting its members and the Dutch wind energy sector. With the addition of two new team members, HHWE is poised to further enhance its services and expand its footprint in both established and emerging markets.
