Collett & Sons, the renowned specialist hauliers, have successfully transported the first turbine tower sections to the Drumlins Park Wind Farm in County Monaghan, Ireland. The delivery marks a significant milestone in the ambitious project undertaken by Energia Renewables to contribute to the transition to Net Zero.
Spanning a remarkable 18.2 meters in length, these colossal components commenced their journey from Waterford Port, embarking on a meticulously planned route. Navigating through Monaghan Town and Newbliss village under the cloak of night, the transport operation aimed to minimize disruption to local traffic while ensuring the safe passage of these intricate structures.

Collett & Sons are at the helm of this complex operation, overseeing the delivery of all eight tower and blade sections, each capable of generating an impressive 6.1 megawatts of green energy. To ensure the safety and smooth progress of these extended loads, a dedicated Garda escort accompanies the convoy, underscoring the importance of this endeavor.
Energia Renewables’ Head of Construction, Patrick Tierney, lauded the accomplishment, emphasizing its pivotal role in advancing the Drumlins Park Wind Farm project. Tierney stated, “This significant milestone propels us closer to our goal of harnessing green electricity at the site and contributing to the global Net Zero initiative.” He also extended gratitude to the collaborative efforts that facilitated the precise execution of the turbine transportation.
