DAKO Worldwide Transport has accomplished a successful delivery of two colossal 190-ton diesel engines from Europe to Gambia. The final leg of this challenging 6,000-kilometer journey, thanks to DAKO’s expertise in handling complex project cargo.

The complexity of the task became apparent as the units, measuring 11.25 x 3.35 x 5.58 meters, posed a significant challenge in transportation. Despite completing the extensive sea journey on schedule, the intricate delivery to the power plant in Gambia demanded specialized equipment and a meticulous approach.

To overcome this challenge, DAKO utilized the Goldhoffer heavy-duty-module THP/SL, a robust solution equipped with an axle load of 45 tons and its own lifting and pushing system. This strategic choice allowed DAKO to navigate the intricacies of the final leg, ensuring the seamless installation of the massive components onto the power plant’s foundations.

The utilization of advanced equipment underscores the importance of innovation and adaptability in the ever-evolving landscape of project cargo and logistics.

In an industry where precision and reliability are paramount, DAKO’s successful delivery of these two massive diesel engines sets a benchmark for excellence in maritime logistics.
