Leadership move targets energy and industrial growth

deugro has appointed Saida Sawyer as Corporate Vice President Global Energy Solutions, strengthening its commercial focus on the energy and industrial sectors. The Houston based executive assumed the role on March 1, 2026 and will operate with global responsibility.

From her base in Houston, Sawyer will work on expanding commercial growth while strengthening engagement with energy and industrial customers. The role places particular emphasis on building relationships across major energy supply chains and supporting the logistics needs of large scale infrastructure and industrial projects.

Energy projects are becoming larger and more complex. Moving a single turbine component or refinery module can involve multiple continents, specialized vessels, and months of planning. For logistics providers like deugro, experienced leadership in this space can shape how projects move from engineering drawings to delivery on site.

Two decades of global logistics experience

Sawyer brings more than twenty years of experience in global logistics and supply chain management. Her background includes leadership roles in commercial strategy, international market development, and cross functional team management.

Before joining deugro, she held senior commercial and leadership positions at Kuehne+Nagel, Panalpina, and CMA CGM. During that time she worked on logistics solutions supporting energy developments, infrastructure programs, and industrial projects across multiple regions.

Her work has included developing strategic client partnerships and leading commercial growth initiatives for complex logistics programs. These projects often require coordination across ocean freight, heavy lift transport, and specialized project cargo handling.

With global investment in energy infrastructure continuing across renewables, power generation, and industrial manufacturing, logistics providers are positioning themselves to support increasingly complex supply chains.

Houston remains a global energy logistics hub

Houston continues to serve as one of the world’s most important centers for energy project logistics. Many global EPC contractors, energy companies, and specialized logistics providers operate from the region, making it a natural base for global project cargo coordination.

For companies handling oversized cargo and industrial equipment, the city remains a key gateway linking engineering firms, ports, and logistics expertise.
