deugro recently shipped eight large offshore substation pin piles from Bilbao, Spain to Vlissingen, the Netherlands.
Each pin pile was over 75 metres in length and weighed over 270 metric tonnes each.
The complicated offloading process, in which the vessel’s hatch covers had to be loaded onto a pontoon, shows just how challenging offshore wind projects have become.
