Global Energy Group Completes Fabrication of Towheads for Subsea7’s Valhall PWP – Fenris Project

Global Energy Group has successfully concluded the fabrication of two Towheads, weighing 66 tons each, on behalf of Subsea7 for the Aker BP ASA Valhall PWP – Fenris project situated in the southern North Sea.

The Towheads, measuring 15 meters in length and 6 meters in width, commenced their journey from the Port of Nigg via road transport, en route to Subsea7’s Wester fabrication site near Wick.

Dave Mackay, General Manager of Global Energy Group Fabrication, expressed satisfaction, stating, “We are happy to have executed this project for our valued client Subsea7. The Towheads and associated subsea assets have been fabricated on time and within budget while maintaining our stringent focus on health & safety.”

Transporting these impressive towheads required a collaborative effort. The journey involved navigating from Global Energy Group’s site at the Port of Nigg to the bundle fabrication site at Wester, outside Wick, Caithness. Acknowledgment was extended to the Valhall PWP-Fenris project team in Aberdeen, Global Energy Group, Osprey Group, and Police Scotland for their unwavering focus on safety and cooperation throughout the process.

Managed from Subsea7’s office in Stavanger, Norway, the Valhall PWP-Fenris project now transitions to the skilled Wester team for the completion of the Aker BP ASA Valhall PWP-Fenris bundle fabrication and launch.
