Harlyn Solutions Successfully Completes First Phase of Moray West Offshore Substation Transport

Harlyn Solutions, a leading UK-based heavy transportation company, has achieved a significant milestone in the transportation of offshore substations for the Moray West Wind Farm. The completion of the first phase marks a crucial step in the delivery of this ambitious UK offshore wind project.

Harlyn Solutions has successfully delivered the necessary engineering, vessels, and marine support for the complex turnkey operations required for the Moray West Wind Farm. The two substations have safely arrived in the Cromarty Firth and are poised for installation at the wind farm site. The company’s comprehensive approach includes upcoming offshore sea fastening release, followed by transfer to the installation vessel and subsequent installation on their monopiles.

Hamish Adamson, Managing Director of Harlyn Solutions Ltd, expressed his enthusiasm for the project:

“Harlyn is thrilled to have secured this extensive scope in an exciting project, and completed the primary phase. As a UK firm delivering to support the build of this UK offshore windfarm, we are proud to work alongside other high-quality companies in this delivery. The scope fits into our core goals as a company to offer turn-key solutions to support the project.”

Pete Geddes, Moray West Project Director, commended Harlyn Solutions’ contribution to the project’s progress:

“As the Moray West project progresses through installation, we are delighted that Harlyn Solutions has safely delivered the two topsides to the Port of Nigg, ready for the final journey to the wind farm site. The project has progressed with a multi-contracting approach across the foundations scopes. This has meant that we have developed our understanding of the marine transport sector, including finding and selecting Harlyn as a thoroughly competent UK supplier.”

The next phase involves loading out the substations to the installation vessel before the offshore installation and hook up take place. This successful collaboration between Harlyn Solutions and Moray West signifies a crucial advancement in the renewable energy sector and reinforces the commitment to achieving the goals of the UK offshore wind industry.

This accomplishment underscores Harlyn Solutions’ dedication to providing turn-key solutions and supporting vital projects in the renewable energy landscape. As the offshore wind industry continues to evolve, collaborations like these become instrumental in ensuring the successful execution of projects, contributing to the broader goals of sustainability and clean energy.
