Hunt Transport, Inc., is set to acquire the brokerage operations of BNSF Logistics, LLC. This strategic development signals a deeper collaboration between J.B. Hunt and Burlington Northern Santa Fe, LLC.
BNSF Logistics, LLC, an affiliate of BNSF Railway Company, specializes in third-party logistics (“3PL”) services, facilitating the movement of a diverse range of goods. This encompasses full truckload, flatbed, temp-controlled, drayage, expedited, and less-than-truckload services, employing both employee and agent models. However, it’s important to note that certain services, including warehousing, retail specialty, heavy-haul, and project operations, will remain unaffected by this acquisition.
CEO of J.B. Hunt, John Roberts, expressed the strategic significance of this move, highlighting the synergy between the companies’ efforts in the transportation market. He emphasized the integration of J.B. Hunt’s cutting-edge technology platform, J.B. Hunt 360°®, as a key driver for this acquisition. The roots of this collaboration trace back to 1989 when J.B. Their joint venture in March 2022 aimed to revolutionize capacity in the intermodal marketplace, reaffirming their commitment to offering enhanced solutions for the North American supply chain.
