Konecranes, a global leader in material handling solutions, has been bestowed with the coveted title of “Pioneer of the Circular Economy” by the esteemed Finnish Foundation for Share Promotion, Pörssisäätiö. The recognition comes as a testament to Konecranes’ commitment to sustainability and resource efficiency.
Outshining 129 listed companies in Finland, Konecranes emerged victorious after a rigorous selection process that whittled down the contenders to a final shortlist of 8, with a panel of 6 judges from Pörssisäätiö making the ultimate decision. The award was accepted by Konecranes President and CEO, Anders Svensson, at an illustrious evening ceremony on January 31.
The panel, in justifying their decision, lauded Konecranes as an inspiring example of how circular economy principles have been seamlessly integrated into the fabric of the manufacturing industry, starting right from the product design stage. They emphasized the wide-scale benefits that ensue when circular economy practices are ingrained in basic operations.
Anders Svensson, beaming with pride, stated, “Finland is a competitive market for circular economy innovation, so this recognition is especially meaningful and humbling.
